Mouvement Figé

AW

I don’t imagine a woman as a butterfly, pinned lifeless inside a display case, her name written on a label underneath. I want her to be liberated, to embrace her beauty and power of seduction.

Within the prestigious Cartier Foundation, set among an exhibition by the photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto, the models capture movement’s energy through a collection of layered constructions: the volume of a blanket dress cinched by a belt, seemingly deconstructed coats, skirts and trousers with exaggerated high waists—all exploring layering, contrast, color, and texture. Feathered tiaras crafted by Maison Michel crown the couture-punk silhouettes.
